Little Otik @ The Sherman Theatre
Little Otik is based on the film by Czech surrealist Jan Švankmajer. A couple who are desperate for a child but are medically unable to achieve this develop an intense relationship with a lump of wood carved to look like a child. As the belief that the wood is a real child grows so does the wooden stump’s appetite. First to go is the cat and then the postman…The play combines the dark humour & surrealist horror with a tender story about a loving family. It is being brought to the stage for the first time by Vanishing Point and the National Theatre of Scotland.
Little Otik can be seen 18/06/08 - 21/06/08 @ the Sherman Theatre.
